Shakyamuni Buddha

Siddhartha Gautama (or Gotama) – a prince borne in 500 B.C. (present is at Lumbini, Nepal) who seeks for the answers of birth, old age, sickness and death at the age of 19 and left his royal kingdom life with renunciation into ascetic life.

According to Buddhism, he achieves enlightenment at the age of 36 and everyone named him as “Shakyamuni Buddha”. He then starts his teaching “the path to awakening” for 49 years until in Nirvana.

Both Mahayana and Vajrayana Buddhism revere “Shakyamuni Buddha” as the primary teacher.
